The recently-completed Lynx XKSS No 9 has been delivered to its owner in California in time for it to be driven and enjoyed during the week of car events and activities surrounding the Monterey Pre-Historics and Historics race weekends.

The XKSS, which has been hand-built over a nine-month period to the owner’s personal requirements and lifestyle, features an extended monocoque with a fully adjustable pedal box and a 4.75 litre Jaguar XK engine mated to a Lynx 5-speed gearbox. This combination provides for a car that is not only very comfortable to drive over long distances, but has the added torque and power placing it in the true supercar performance league.

The owner, who was competing in the Monterey Historics races, was delighted to see his Lynx XKSS for the first time and took full advantage of the beautiful California weather and spectacular roads to drive it at every opportunity. The Lynx XKSS joins the owner’s varied and extensive collection of road and competition sports and racing cars.

Lynx Chairman John Mayston-Taylor met with the owner at Laguna Seca and received confirmation that the XKSS met with his total approval. “He is a very knowledgeable and accomplished driver and his complimentary remarks and observations were much appreciated. In all aspects of the car, he was very specific including the individual shade of green in which he wished to have the body painted. We are very pleased to have met and exceeded his extremely high standards of engineering and attention to detail.” commented Mayston-Taylor.
