CONCORSO D’ELEGANZA VILLA D’ESTE 2005

The traditional Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este was held at the magnificent Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como in Northern Italy during the weekend of 22-25 April 2005
.
A selection of fifty of the world’s most elegant cars, covering the periods from early Pre-War models to the exotic Italian sports cars of the1960s, were invited to participate in this world class event.

The 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, which has recently been the subject of a sympathetic Lynx restoration, was invited and shown by Lynx Chairman, John Mayston-Taylor. The car was much admired by the Jury of Judges in its very rare and distinctive original factory colour combination of dark blue with Pelle Orange Connolly hide interior.

This year the quality of entries was particularly strong with Best of Show being awarded to the very distinctive 1964 Alfa Romeo Canguro Coupe Bertone.

Also participating in
the event was a showcase of modern concept cars ranging from the 2004 Nissan
Quashqai to the 2005 Rinspeed Senso.
