LYNX XKSS – THE ART OF PERFECTION
![]()
A recently completed limited edition Lynx XKSS, is being featured in the September 2003 issue of the US magazine Sports Car International.
The XKSS, which is one of seven examples built by Lynx, is styled on the evocative Jaguar XKSS built in the1950s and takes more than 3,000 hours to complete at Lynx, and is finished in classic black with dark red hide interior and black mohair hood and tonneau.
The entire body is constructed in aluminium using the traditional method of hand-wheeled panels formed over wooden bucks and comprises a central monocoque, with separate aluminium nose and tail sections.
All mechanical parts on the car are either new upgraded items or completely restored to perfect condition. The engine is a Jaguar XK unit, which has been upgraded to operate reliably in modern road conditions and produces 320bhp and 340 lb/ft of torque.
