‘LOST LIGHTWEIGHT E-TYPE’ SCORES CLASS AWARD AT PEBBLE BEACH
![]()
The ex-Kjell Qvale Jaguar Lightweight E-type (S850660) that competed at Sebring and at Laguna Seca in 1963 and then remained untouched in a Los Angeles garage for 35 years, returned to California from its UK home to attend this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event on Sunday 18 August.

This extremely original race car that was the subject of a sympathetic restoration by Lynx in 1998, was much admired by the many thousands of car enthusiasts who gathered to view the wide variety of cars on display at this most prestigious event. The Lightweight E-type was given a class award in the Jaguar Racing category together with the ex-Steve McQueen Jaguar XKSS (also a former Lynx restoration) and the 1956 Le Mans winning Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar D-type. Also present on the lawn at Pebble Beach was another Lynx restoration project, the unique Ecurie Ecosse Transporter, which was also brought from England especially for the weekend.
