EX-FITTIPALDI GT40 AT LE MANS CLASSIC
The ex-Wilson Fittipaldi Ford GT40 (GT40P/1083) travelled from its current home in the Eastern US to take part in this year’s Le Mans Classic event during the weekend of 23rd to 25th July.
The car’s owner, Arthur ‘Archie’ Urciuoli, who has been competing in historic racing for a number of years, shared 1083 for the event with former Formula Atlantic driver and neighbour, Dale Lang (father of ex-Formula Three driver Eric) and both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

“Seeing the circuit for the first time in the dark was quite daunting, but by the third race, we had settled in and were having fun”, enthused ‘Archie’ after the event.
1083 competes regularly in the US historic race series, but this was the car’s first ever event in Europe. The car finished in 19th position overall within the Index of Performance.
