Lynx Award-Winning Restoration Projects![]()
The approach to a Lynx restoration project is similar to that of a fine piece of furniture or a painting. The history of the car has to be well researched and documented prior to any work being carried out and a specific project plan and timetable is then compiled. All work must be carried out to a very high standard with a consistency of finish achieved in all areas of the vehicle.
The reputation of the vehicle restoration business in general is not a good one. This situation has arisen due to a number of factors. Often, the restoration company has historically not been set up as a business, but more as an extension of an individual's hobby and interest in cars. The commercial experience and principles required in the car restoration business are no different than those in any modern private limited company. If the business is to consistently deliver quality work within an agreed timescale and provide the client with value for money, then it must be structured and operate in an orthodox, professional manner.
At Lynx, a company structure has been established to ensure all projects are managed professionally and efficiently. A Project Manager is given overall responsibility for the entire process involved in the restoration of a vehicle. He will be the liaison between the
client and the team of craftsmen and in consultation with all involved, he will draw up a detailed project plan incorporating all of the aspects and processes, ensuring that, for instance, all long lead-time items are taken into account at the beginning of the project. His knowledge and full-time responsibility of the specific project will ensure that all work will be carried out to an agreed standard and within a specific time-frame - especially important when the car is being prepared for an event. As a company, we have consistently won awards over many years at major international events for our restoration work and for the conservationist approach to our projects. We continue to set ourselves the highest standards and will be presenting examples of our work throughout the year.
