FERRARI WINS AT SPRING CONCOURS

line

A 1963 Ferrari 250GT Lusso that has been sympathetically restored by Lynx Motors International has won its class at the Aston Martin Owners’ Club Spring Concours at Waddesdon Manor on Sunday 11 May. Amongst the cars competing in the Associate Class were an early Rolls Royce and an extremely rare Bizzarini.

This early example (chassis no. 4411GT) that was originally ordered new by French film actress Mylene Demongeot, has remained in very original complete condition during its life in France, where it was used as weekend transport between the owner’s homes in Paris and the South of France.

Retaining its original colour combination of Rosso Rubino and beige Connolly hide, the car has still only recorded a total of 58,000 kilometres since it was dispatched from the factory on 18 May 1963.

“It is becoming increasingly difficult to find correct original examples of sports cars that are worthy of restoration”, commented Lynx Chairman John Mayston-Taylor. “This Ferrari Lusso not only looks correct, but it also drives as it did in the 1960s. A very well balanced car with the wonderful music from the 250 V12 engine”.

The car will be participating in selected events this year including the Italia Classica in September.

For further information, or if you would like to discuss alternative concours restoration projects, please contact Andrew Parkinson or John Mayston-Taylor.
