Each Lynx D-type features enhanced Jaguar E-type mechanical components blended with a lightweight, yet tough all-aluminium monocoque structure resulting in an excellent power-to-weight ratio. The result is a driving experience without equal. Each car is hand-tailored to the owner's individual requirements. The styling options for example, encompass the long nose or short nose style, single or full width screen, with or without a tail fin.

Lynx XKSS - L02-53 Perhaps the ultimate expression of the D-type's on-road abilities is the XKSS. This classic soft-top still retains the essence of the D-type character but with enhanced touring capabilities. It offers complete protection from the weather with its larger windscreen and hood, while the division between the seats is omitted for more passenger space and comfort.  The Lynx XKSS is available in either left or right hand drive form.

BODY:

All aluminium, hand wheeled in either left or right hand drive form.  Extended cockpit version available with enlarged footwells.

INTERIOR:

 

Original style leather seats are trimmed in Connolly hide and fitted with full harness racing seat belts.  A D-type dashboard is fitted with correct period instrumentation and original D-type steering wheel.  The XKSS model is equipped with a mohair hood and hood bag.
ENGINE: Blueprinted 3.8, 4.2, 4.5 or 4.75 litre Jaguar in-line 6 cylinder DOHC XK unit with either 3 Weber 45DCOE twin-choke carburettors or fuel-injection on Lynx Inlet Manifold  with Lynx-profiled camshafts, large valves etc., large bore free flow exhaust system. Standard maximum power: 300bhp @ 5500rpm

TRANSMISSION:

E-Type 4.2 all-synchromesh 4-speed or optional Lynx T5 5-speed  gearbox

SUSPENSION

Front: Independent wishbones with torsion bars & anti-roll bar, Leda adjustable shock absorbers. Rear: Independent, rotating top wishbone, 4 coil spring - damper units, Leda adjustable shock absorbers.

STEERING:

Rack & pinion, 2.75 turns lock-lock

BRAKES:

Front: Uprated discs and multi-pot calipers. Rear: Inboard uprated discs.

WHEELS:

16 inch Dunlop-pattern pressed alloy on peg drive hubs with single centre lock spinners.
