line

One of the ex-Briggs Cunningham Jaguar factory Lightweight E-types successfully competed in this year’s RAC Tourist Trophy Celebration race at the Goodwood Revival Meeting on Sunday 16 September.

‘5114 WK’, which competed at Le Mans in 1963, is still in very original condition and raced at Goodwood with its original engine and ZF five speed gearbox.

The car was prepared for the event by Lynx and was driven by former Le Mans winner Jackie Oliver and Lynx Chairman, John Mayston-Taylor. Following an exciting race, 5114 WK finished in tenth place overall.

The car was joined by three other factory Lightweights E-types for the blue ribbon race and was the second Jaguar home, with the ex-John Coombs Lightweight, 4 WPD, winning the race overall. The other two Lightweights entered, 49 FXN and 2 GXO were involved in incidents during the race and were not classified as finishers
