AMELIA ISLAND CONCOURS – 2002

The 7th annual Amelia Island Concours was held at during the weekend of 9/10 March and is being hailed as a very successful event.

This year, Dan Gurney was the Guest of Honour and a number of his cars had been assembled especially to celebrate his successes in the world of motor sport.

More than 250 entrants attended and cars ranged from a 1930 Cadillac V-16 Fleetwood Roadster to a 1960/1 Maserati Birdcage Typo 61.

The standard of preparation for the concours was once again very high, with the Best of Show being awarded to a magnificent 1937 Delage D8. 120SS Aerodynamic Coupe from Louisville, Kentucky.

Lynx Chairman, John Mayston-Taylor was delighted to be invited to judge again at the Amelia Island Concours and was very enthusiastic about the event. “The diversity of cars and the standards of preparation are extremely impressive. Bill Warner works tirelessly to make this Concours unique and truly entertaining”.
