XKSS WINS MAJOR AWARDS AT AMELIA ISLAND CONCOURS
![]()
The most original, well-preserved Jaguar XKSS (XKSS 728) has won two two major awards at this year's prestigious Amelia Island Concours d'elegance held in Northern Florida on Sunday 12 March.
Amongst an entry of over 200
stunning cars ranging from early pre-war coachbuilt roadsters to
modern supercars, the XKSS was awarded the Christies'
International Motorcars Trophy for the Most Exceptional Car and
also the Don Andrews Award for the Spirit of the Concours for a
"driver's" car that is driven often and enjoyed by its
owner.
Having been preserved in a Chicago garage for over thirty years
by its fastidious owner, this car still has recorded a mere 13,000
since it was built in 1957!
Following its many years of hibernation, the car was
sympathetically re-commissioned by Lynx Motors International
before being taken on the 1999 Mille Miglia Retrospective event.
The car's owner was thrilled at the appreciation and recognition
his beautiful, un-molested Jaguar has received at this world-class
event.
