THE LYNX LIGHTWEIGHT E-TYPE - FOR ROAD, RALLY OR TRACK

line

The Jaguar E-type is seen and appreciated as one of the most beautiful sports cars ever designed. More than 72,000 examples of the model were manufactured between 1961 and 1974, however, a very small number of factory competition cars were constructed.

Considered by many to be the most evocative version of the E-type is the 1963 Lightweight E-type of Peter Lindner and Peter Nocker in Low Drag Coupe form.  “4868 WK” was highly developed with its aerodynamic body and all aluminium fuel-injected engine, competing in endurance racing during 1964.  Lynx’s involvement with the car started when they were commissioned to rebuild it following its accident at Montlhery in 1964.

After completion of the project, a customer who liked the car so much approached Lynx and commissioned an example to be built for himself. It was then decided to make available this Lightweight E-type, on a strictly limited basis – known as the Lynx Lightweight E-type

Entirely hand-built at Lynx to an exacting specification, each car takes a total of twelve months and more than 3,500 hours to construct and the finished item is a bespoke piece of automotive art.

To date, four of these cars have been built by Lynx for private collectors. The fifth example has now been completed and it is available to purchase.  Images and details can be viewed within our For Sale section.
